Former Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski, (left), Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, The Adjutant General, Oregon, with the Distinguished Citizen Award on behalf of the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts of America, during the 2013 Eagle Scout Celebration at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, Ore., May 9.
Kulongoski, a Life Scout and past Meritorious Leadership Award recipient, said the values of the Boy Scouts reflect those of the National Guard, and America.
Rees, a Star Scout, who was the keynote speaker at the event, said the Boy Scouts prepare members to be leaders, mentors and role models.
About 100 Scouts and their family members took part in the event, which also included 10 Scouts who each received a $1,000 scholarship.
