Oregon Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Kevin Hartman, of the 115 Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, embraces his wife, Andrea, as their daughter, June, looks on at the Portland International Airport, following the unit’s return to Oregon, April 23.

The 115 MPAD completed a deployment to Afghanistan, where they produced more than 700 broadcast products, 75 print stories and more than 600 photos that were downloaded more than 2,500 times and used by news media agencies around the world.

They also embedded more than 80 journalists from various news agencies throughout the world to tell the story of what was happening in Regional Command East, and provided training to the 201st Corps and 203rd Corps Afghan National Army on public affairs operations.

A demobilization ceremony for the unit is scheduled on May 5 in Salem, Ore.
