Dr. Suzanne Best, co-author of “Courage After Fire: Coping Strategies for Troops Returning from Iraq and Afghanistan” speaks to veterans, advocates and resource providers at an Oregon National Guard Reintegration Summit, March 1, at the Anderson Readiness Center in Salem, Ore. Best called Oregon the national leader in reintegration services for service members, veterans and their families, and said with that comes a lot of responsibility. “We are the model for the nation,” Best said.
