We're Number One! (in 2009 at least)

Just found out this morning that the blog you're currently reading (unless of course you're reading it from our Facebook page) took the First Place award from the National Guard Bureau's Media competition for 2009.

Why so late to inform us, you ask?

With the thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of blogs submitted by our sister states' National Guard units throughout the country, and all the other social media pages which the judges had to sift through, it takes a while for winners to be named, let alone notified.

Thank you to the National Guard Bureau for the recognition. Oregon has worked very hard to build a first-class social media program, and these kudos go a long way toward justifying what we do in this program. We now have a beautiful plaque which we can hang in our office here in Salem, Ore., to show for our accomplishments.

We only hope that in your eyes (our readers and followers), that we also rate as a First Place winner!

Hope you are having a very safe and happy holiday season.
