162 Engineer Soldiers go Rogue for a day

Originally uploaded by Rogue Ales

Rogue Brewing showed up at the 162 Engineer Company demob ceremony on Friday, and handed out a free beer to every Soldier who participated in the ceremony.

Rogue made a special label to commemorate the unit, who spent a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. The Oregon Soldiers cleared over 15,000 miles of roads, during more than 6,000 hours of active missions, and nearly 200 IED events during their deployment.

Soldiers in the unit earned more than 13 Bronze Star Medals, 78 Combat Action Badges, 60 Army Commendation Medals and five Purple Heart Medals.
