Oregon Air National Guard member thanks civilian employer for support with ESGR award

Oregon Air National Guard Lt. Mark Gibson, of the 123 Weather Flight, Portland Air National Guard Base, presents Wilsonville Mayor Tim Knapp, with the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) Patriot Award, at the Wilsonville City Hall in Wilsonville, Ore., on May 3. Gibson, who works as a water quality analyst for the City of Wilsonville, deployed for about 30 days to Haiti with three other Airmen from his unit, to help set up a weather station as part of the joint-force recovery effort following the devastating earthquake there in January 2010. After his team completed their mission for the joint-task force, they then took part in helping the international contingent with ongoing recovery and relief efforts around Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
